Carl Kurlander

Producer Carl Kurlander is a screenwriter ("St. Elmo's Fire"), TV writer/producer ("Saved By The Bell") and visiting professor at the University of Pittsburgh. His journey back to Pittsburgh landed him on The Oprah Winfrey Show and became the subject of a feature documentary, My Tale of Two Cities, about coming home and people reinventing themselves. The film, which Kurlander directed, has played in film festivals around the country and on Capitol Hill and at the G-20 Economic Summit in Pittsburgh, and currently is in limited release in select cities. It was recently picked up for distribution by Panorama Entertainment. Carl is also the co-founder of the Steeltown Entertainment Project, a non-profit organization whose mission is to develop a socially significant, commercially viable entertainment industry in Southwestern Pennsylvania.
